We design Tunable Laser Gas Sensors for gas measurement applications.  Our expertise ranges from new mid-infrared tunable laser sources, near-infrared, and towards the ultra-violet region. 

TDL Sensors Ltd started in 1999 and has spun out of the University of Manchester's Department of Chemical Engineering.  The company has been backed by the Manchester Technology Fund and the University of Manchester Intellectual Property Limited.
 

We have a vertically integrated technology development strategy where spectroscopy, electronics, opto-mechanical design, and the software elements of a tunable laser gas monitor have been and can be developed in-house.  Our aim is always to produce a gas sensor that is fully capable of being deployed in the field or industrial environment rather than only a laboratory technology demonstrator.

We have been involved in CEC funded projects within Framework IV, V, and now VII.  Recent technology development has also been supported by a  North West Regional Development Agency (NWDA) R&D award.
