Cavity enhanced absorption spectroscopy cells that can be used for very high sensitivity gas concentration measurements.  Pathlengths of 1000s of metres can be achieved  in a 30 cm base length cell with a very small internal volume.

Typically ppb or even ppt gas concentrations can be resolved.
